whos getting the bug? im out at my dads in hillsdale finishing up this muzzle loader season. i went to the gas station down the street this morning and seen about fifteen people out on the ice. stopped on the way back, about three inches of ice. a few piles of gills and a couple perch. might have to give it a try after the evening hunt....

I am going to go out down by Gibraltar but think I want to wait a few weeks. I don't trust the ice yet.

I lived by Anchor Bay for 20+ years, every year it seemed some group of jackasses were getting stuck on the ice or falling through. STAY OFF THE ICE UNTIL IT'S SAFE. ESPECIALLY IF THE WIND IS BLOWING OUT.

There are a couple dozen guys ice-fishing out on my lake as I'm typing this. That's a heckuva risk for a few bluegills...

There were a few ice-boats ripping around out there yesterday as well.

I like myself to risk going thru+ my wife is hot :gorgeous: , so why ruin a good thing

My ice fishing buddy and i strap some 8' 2x6's (like x country ski's) and venture alittle further with a spud and an auger until we feel its safe with 3" of solid black ice....We always carry rope with us and use those ice picks on a string around your neck so you can spike your way out (never needed em)

Out here on the little inland lakes, in the canals and coves . Three inches is a good start. We don't get to drive our trucks on the ice like you lucky dogs. An auger,spud,bucket and a rod is all you need on first ice.

I'm still in deer hunting mode now. Ice fishing mode will kick in after the first of the year.

Oh , YOU MEAN THE ANTI GUN , CANT SPEAK YOUR MIND , BETTER NOT HAVE A POLITICAL VIEW, THAT IS WHY I BOYCOTT MICHIGAN SPORTSMAN AS WELL FORUM???

PEOPLE OVER THERE GOT PISSED because i was on a 4 month lay off (last year) and caught more fish (posted daily pics of monster size limits) in that span than most will ever in a lifetime. Guess they didnt want a information board, they are more interested in sponsor $$$$$$ than tips and tactics. --Lesson learned:gavel:
