I dont know of anyone who has IDPA near lansing any more. CCRC sent out an email last week saying they are no longer running IDPA.. South Kent is just off M6/131.. that may be the closest now.

I used to shoot at the CCRC, but I don't think they'll be doing it anymore. I am thinking about heading over to the ACTS matches. They are about 45 minutes away.

Dave Johnson runs the program at LSCA, and is a great guy. You should be able to get to him through LCSA's website. They don't have the 2010 schedule posted yet, but this should get you on the right track.

Sounds like the CCRC might still be putting on IDPA matches. They might be the closest thing around. Great place to shoot as well.

I have a friend who shoots regularly with us at CCRC who also shoots at Chelsea. Here is a link to their site/schedule:

'pistol shoot' is their IDPA shoot, I believe. Haven't been there, maybe Dan will chime in.

The Cheslea Rod and Gun Club Pistol shoots are VERY informal.
They can't really be called an IDPA event.
The have three stages. The first is more or less a warmup.
Safe gun handling is enforced of course.
Other than that it's pretty laid back. (IDPA rules aren't strictly heeded)

They do keep scores but I don't think too many of the folks pay attention to that. All skill levels participate. I really enjoy going there, the people are great, but don't expect real IDPA.:di:

I'm pretty sure CCRC is planning on doing IDPA next year, even if they don't their will be some sort of competition, they do some pretty cool stuff there.

The CCRC calendar has been posted on their website and IPSC will be held throughout 2010 on the second Sunday of each month, April through October. A couple of the days will be switched by one week for dates the club is closed, so check the calender for accurate dates.
