**Please note that if you are not a Contributing Member, you will be expected to become one at the time of working.**

Attire is expected to be casual, jeans are fine, BUT, please nothing less than a polo style shirt...we are trying to present professionalism among our peers. ALSO NO political attire, no buttons or anything that reflects a political stance...it can't happen! We are representing MGO in the booth, not our own personal opinions.

Safe Storage presentation will be at 4pm on Saturday Stage B

Workers, park on the west end of the building and enter on the northwest corner of the building (Door 2), there will be a customer service kiosk there to get your admission badges. Contact fbuckner regarding parking passes.

What is the target number of people needed? Working in shifts?

Looks like help is needed most so far on the 25 & 27

I can help out the 25th setup to closing.

I can help the 27th open to close.

Speaking only for myself and what I have personally experienced and not for the Pres who is organizing this or the EC - We need 2-3 to effectively run the booth when it is busy and 4-6 easily lets us trade off and take breaks to see the show and other essential side trips. More are needed at times of SafeStorage presentations - if we are presenting them - I believe we are on the "seminar" list for Outdoorama but no time was set and we were checking for Birch Run last I knew.

Some questions about parking for the event, for those of us that are working show.
I read the thread about last year’s show and it talked about a parking pass for $10.00 is this the same this year? how many days does it cover?

Do exhibitors get special rates on a per day rate?

No special rate. $10.00 pass covers the entire show. Parking "per day" is $5.00 so if you're working two days or less you're not saving anything. Work more than two days and save.

I don't bother splitting the shift, people can just work what they can work. No worries. I try to keep it simple.

There will be EC floating for most of the event.

I don't want another child to die because of ignorance and negligent gun owners. I have so much I want to put down, but then it coms to writing and I get so upset I get blocked! Can we pick up our passes on Thursday, even if only working one of the days?

Am I correct that we pick up our passes on the West end of the center?

Is CC allowed?

Is OC allowed?

Can we pick up our passes on Thursday, even if only working one of the days? I think so, see no reason why not. The only hitch would be if you are using a 'staff' pass. If so those, need to be returned so that others can use them.

Is CC allowed? We go around and around on this...read the other threads. I personally cant' see why not...but, that is only MY opinion.

It was too bad more kids were not at the gun education seminar, but if that program benefits the ones that were there then it's worth it. It was interesting to listen to the answers my kids had, when asked how many kids know if their parents had guns my girls didnt answer, They have seen our guns I don't know if they were being shy or werent really sure if we still have them.. when asked if they knew where the bullets were kept my 12yr old says "umm yea in the gun" I couldn't believe she said that, but then again in her mind a gun is always loaded, that is what we have taught them.

I had a great time Thursday & Saturday helping support MGO at the Outdoorama.
It was a pleasure to work with fellow MGO members, happy to see members again that I know and meet people I know only from screen names and thanks guy’s for the help.
Avatars and screen names are never the same once you get to meet the members, it’s a good thing.

I want to say something about my experience speaking with people, I use I spoke, a lot in the following comments, this does not mean to imply I was the only one who did any talking, everyone who worked the booth spoke and interacted with the public and did a great job of representing MGO and we handed out just about all the tri-fold’s and pens on hand.:salute:

I spoke with a lot of people, some were gun owners, some were new gun owners, some had just taken cpl training and had yet to buy a gun, some were just ready to be gun owners and get training, and some that were not into guns, with those few they didn’t stop to talk.
And some who owned guns and didn’t see the point of a gun rights group.:shake:

I spoke with old people, who did not have a computer, new nothing of the internet (but were going to get one and get connected, could be culture shock there):yikes:

I spoke with a group of young men 17 & 18 yr old getting out on their own , owning guns, the future of shooting sports.

I spoke with a 16 yr old with his dad looking to own his first hand gun in a few years when he is old enough.

I spoke with young family’s dad, mom, children, boys & girls.

I spoke with single mom with her young son.

I spoke with a few moms and grandma’s with kids and guns at home.

All these people were directed by us, MGO members to the organization, the web site and to the upcoming events, a lot of good positive interaction with the public.

I think many of those that do check into MGO further will do so using the internet, I can only hope that they have just as positive experience online as in person, we need all these people.

This is why it is so important how we act on our website, and the image presented to all people coming to visit us online.

I just wanted people to know some things about him and to see what he looks like and not just a story! I miss him everyday, and he was your average fun loving kid, he loved sports and got along with everyone.. He did make special impressions on those who knew him. I appreciate all you guys and what you do.

Took alot for me to go, its been almost 3 yrs and its real hard for me, some people on here think im an anti-gun person, which is so not true, I'm against stupid gun owners. And No i didnt like the fact my neighbor has strangers over at his home shooting I trust him and him only not strangers I don't know anything about. I used to own a gun, I shot with my son, and my husband did as well. Now I wish I wouldn't have sold mine, but at the time my mind was everywhere and I didnt want to look at a gun....

If we can save 1 life due to teaching kids and adults the dangers of not being safe with guns then I will feel good and maybe that will put me at peace.

If it hasn't happened already, it will! That is one of MGO's primary objectives.

And its one of mine as well, 10 yrs ago my husbands cousin was shot and killed by a friend when he was almost 14, the parents "ran" out of room to store all their weapons so the kids were allowed to have them loaded in their rooms, this boy shot his in his temple with a double barrel shotgun, he was 3 inches away in my mind that was murder but he received probation, his parents received no criminal charges even though they waited 45minutes to call 911 and they also took that time to clean up the crime scene and their son.

Now since it has happened to me which I never ever thought I would out live one if my kids, but it happened, I want to do anything I can to prevent it from happening. Sometimes yes the kids just don't care but also it's up to the adults, the owners of that weapon to secure it and in my opinion laws need to be changed on the charges that should be brought up against them as well... I say this because if my dog attacked and killed someone Im responsible, having a vicious rottweiler is like having a loaded gun, the lady that owned the dogs that killed the people in Fowlerville received prison for owning them, These people had no charges and never said SORRY..

I think I may be able to come around and talk about why I feel safety is important to children, and I know my son would be proud of me.
