HB 5734 auction of wildlife by the State

There's five less chances I'll get my Elk permit drawn. As this type of policy becomes more popular, only the rich and famous will be able to afford to hunt as more permits will be auctioned and less as a drawing until the greedy politicians make all hunts an auction. :bash:

I agree. it is no longer 'Wildlife management".. it is revenue enhancement.

maybe someone can help me out...the way I read this they aren't taking away permits but just adding 5 additional bidded permits for elk and an open bid on bear permits (which seems silly). Seems like they are still keeping elk permits residential which is ok i guess. Am I just reading this wrong, or is this specifically this vauge?

Maybe I'm slow, could you please quote the section of this bill that states they will add 5 of each. The way I read the bill, it does not specify either way. Now I know we're both assuming here, but I find it hard to believ these poloticians are going to give us something out of this. It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

The Indians get 10% of the ELK,BEAR,TURKEY permits in Northern LP, & UP add those numbers up,or the 5 deer they can shoot with rifles from September to January

Nope, Game and Fish fund as written in the bill. Always has been G&F fund.

Still, it sucks that they are grabbing for the $$ from the Rich and Famous instead of luck of the draw for all of us.
