Do we have some guidelines? Such as calibers allowed, rifles etc. How about age requirements etc. Can we bring our own ammo? I checked the web site and couldn't find these things.

No idea, personally.
I will let others respond to you. I have never been there, sorry.
I just know they are very MGO friendly.

You pay for your ammo or anything else like that. MGO picks up the tab for the Range fees.

Yep, if it is i am riding up there for sure.
My daughter wants to go(she's 10)... My wife is reluctantly going to let her.
I don't think she'll handle a 1 hour + ride even if its in the 40's...
I'm happy she wants to learn to shoot and properly handle guns, but sad that I may not get to ride... Cages suck.
Anyone know if you can shoot shotguns there?
yes you can no birdshot buck and slug only

Sweet, good to know. :-D

Dumb question time... can you shoot buckshot out of a 28" light contour barrel?
My 21" is rifled. I bought some Lightfields on clearance because its really bugging me that I bought this thing in December and haven't shot it yet!
You coming to the Shoot RSF?
doubt ill be in indy i think

Advanced Ranges in Burton is an indoor range.

I'm sure there will be folks there who will let you shoot what they brought, especially if you buy the ammo. And some of the stuff will probably be a bit uncommon. That's what fun shoots are all about! :D
Sounds like a blast, but it will be my first time to a formal range setup (im a little....backwoods). Im sure there will be people willing to show the do's & don'ts on a range, right?

I was in over the weekend and they said they can handle shotgun (slug or buck only) and rifle up to about 7.62x39 (no armor piercing, steel, incendiary, etc. they told me they check rounds with a magnet to check for steel).
They have a huge lobby area and glassed in shooting range so people can stand outside and talk while still being able to see whats going on on on the range.
They also said that the web page has a lot of old info and will be updated shortly.
I've only been there a few times now but it is a very nice place. I have not bought ammo there so I don't know what their prices are like.
They have an outstanding 3d archery range so bring your bows.

Awesome, im hoping i can get out of work, home, and to burton in time...it will be close! I also have to make sure i dont have other plans that i dont know about yet...lol.

I don't know but there might be an additional charge for its use. MGO is paying for range time only. Any other expenses will be the responsibility of the users.

Nice to meet everyone tonight. I was a little later than originally planned but still had a great time. Everyone was more than eager to let me shoot whatever they had brought. Thanks for that. Glad to see some of you shoot the AR also. Especially DK's daughter. I didn't expect her to "rapid fire" like she did but it was awesome! The staff at Advanced was also very cool. The guy running the range for us even brought out his G34 comp gun and let myself and Ed run a few rounds through it. SSWWEEEET! Thanks again to the members who put this together!

I had an awesome time. Loved watching Hannah shoot, she started off very timid and by the time she was done she was grinning from ear to ear and wanting to try everything. She went to town with the 10/22 and the AR.
Thanks again to everyone for letting me try their toys. It was a buffet of guns and everyone was more then willing to let anyone try anything they brought including ammo.
That was my first time shooting the AR so thanks for walking me through its operation. I definitely have one of these on my future buy list.
It was cool to put some faces to the names I see here.
I know NickS took a several pics so hopefully those will get posted soon.

I always thought it was for Automatic Rifle, like the old CAR-15 was the Colt Automatic Rifle, correct? they just dropped the C for the "generic" manufacturers?
Nevermind.. If Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AR-15) is to be believed you are correct sir... My apologies.
