if you can fix the trigger bull if your going to use it as a dedicated Bull gun then great better sights and etc....

if your looking to make it more accurate period... spend the time and money on ammo... to be honest brother its like dressing up a fat/ugly chick and taking her to prom and saying she is porn star.....

There's more parts at a lower cost for other platforms. Some guns are just not made for certain things...especially bullseye shooting.

Get a 1911 for $350 and build it up from there. Or if you insist on a plastic gun go for a Glock, just about the only plastic gun I know of with enough aftermarket to make it a legitimate bullseye gun.

Yeah, $385 is close enough, and those are new prices...if you're paying that much for a used one you're crazy.

Made in the Phillipines build it up and it will still be a $350 1911.

The best thing you could do with an SR9 is to jack up the sights and drive another pistol under them. Not worth putting any money into.

I think this would be a good choice.

Probably end up a lot better then an SR9 with a grand dumped into it, too.

Are there any reasons behind your guys (Dare I say it?) disdain for the SR9? From everything I've seen, it's a high value well built shooter. I'm new to civilian guns so show me the ropes.

the few i have shot have shot well...... one was not an overreliable gun ...

sights suck as a defensive gun trigger is nerdy the gun while nice isnt on top of my list... havent seen enough of them run hard and well to be able to say yes or nay as a price point gun its ok nice gun nor very refined. but ok gun

If you want a good accurate competition gun look at a smith & wesson 686 or model 10 with a 6" barrel...these things from the factory will outshoot you. If you are talking 1911 bulls eye shooting either spend the big bucks 1200+ and get a high end 1911 that will be accurate or buy a low end and build it yourself.

If i wanted an accurate handgun for less than 1,000$ i would probably buy a para gi expert (since it has a match barrel), install a match grade bushing, clean up the slide/frame fitment and then sights.

Don't forget the shipping +$30 or more and then the transfer fee - as little as $15 for some, as much as $50+ for others, also 6% sales tax if you go through Dick - you're at $400+.

Add another few hundred worth of work though and it's probably still a better deal than working up an SR9.
