I have a Browning B80 chambered for 3" magnums, does anyone know where I can get a 23/4" barrel so that I can shoot target loads and also is it OK to shoot steel shot through this gun?

I have the same gun and also looking for the same barrel, from what I have read the gun was actually made for Browning by Berretta and can use an A302 or A303 barrel, I forget which one. If you find a barrel please let me know

Generally you can shoot 2 3/4" shells out of a 3" barrel, just not vice versa.
Is there something special about this Browning that doesn't allow you to use the shorter shells?

Yes, I can shoot high brass (expensive) 23/4" shells but with taget loads the gun dosn't fully cycle (semiautomatic) and won't eject the spent shell

Sounds like it needs less spring or more gas for target loads. It should act the same with a different barrel, unless the 2 3/4 barrel modifies the gas pressure also. Having never owned a semi-auto shotgun, I don't claim to know anything about them.
