Plug for R&D Enterprises

I have an awesome pistol safe built by a company called R&D Enterprises. It is a very stout welded steel box, very thick metal, with massive hinges. It has a simplex pushbutton combo lock.

I did a search, apparently R&D Enterprises did make a very fine pistol safe, but got out of the business. It looks like R&D Enterprises still owns the site handgunsafe.com, but I could not get it to come up. I also found a couple of threads on some forums that talked about R&D Enterprises stopping that line of products that were 2 yrs, 10 months old.

I have one of their steel lock boxes and it is awesome. I believe it was ~$200 shipped; money well spent. IIRC, it is constructed of ¼” steel.

That is not the same web site name that I traced to the one that is/was owned by R&D Enterprises. That url redirects to Titangunvault.com (http://titangunvault.com/) and I can't find who owns that one. It was registered "by proxy" through Godaddy.com. My google foo is not up to snuff tonight.

Notice that the OP hasn't been back on since posting this. And right now his post count is 2. I was looking for a good small safe, that is why I first went looking and discovered that it looks like R&D is no longer in the business of this kind of safe. I am no longer looking for this kind of thing.

No. R&D Enterprises is gone. I suppose their boxes will be around for decades, if not longer though. That link indicates 14ga construction, which is not even 1/3 as thick as ¼” plate. I pulled my receipt from 10/2002. The price for my 4811-S was $186.19. It is 4.25" x 9" x 11.5" and weighs 24 lbs.
