28” barrels are the most desirable and bring a premium (they also made 26”). I‘d expect the longer barrel version to bring $1300-$1800 in excellent original condition. Skeet and trap shooters are notorious for altering their guns and many of them are seen with lengthened forcing cones, choke tubes, adjustable combs, porting, modified LOP and/or custom pads. The mods generally don’t help the value. The quality of the wood can make a difference too. 26” barrels may be a hard sell at $1200. A nice 28” 4-barrel skeet set will bring $4500-$5500.

Pat Laib was the man for service and parts. I think he’s still in business and spare guide rod assemblies are worth having while they’re still available (they seem to last for about 30K round). Remington won’t touch the gun. There was a recall because of doubling and guns that received the upgrade had a “.” (period) added to the serial number. The early stocks had a tendency to crack on the bottom near the receiver nut and the factory fix was to glass bed the stock area immediately around it on new guns. Forearms and forearm irons also tended to crack near the ejector hammer pins. With a lot of use, they also show elongation of the firing pin holes. It's a nice shooting gun with a low profile receiver and similar handling characteristics to a K80.
