Broken Shell Extractor

I highly recommend one of these easy to use (and cheap) devices for those with fal or AR type rifles. I was shooting my fal on Sat. It's gas operated; and the shell is extracted with a fair amount of force. Anyhow, one of the shells tore right apart ( I was experimenting with match ammo)...leaving the neck in the chamber. I had to quit shooting. I went home and ordered a shell extractor (from DSA). It was so easy. First time, the broken shell came right out. Even so, it took a lot of force. I can't imagine any other way of getting that shell out that wouldn't score the chamber.

Good advice. Few things will stop a day's shooting more definitely than a busted case in the chamber.

I've never had to use it but do have one for the Garand.
