:?: Does anyone know of any gunsmithing seminars or classes available in SE Michigan? I am interested in basic gunsmithing and detailing/cleaning of firearms.

The NRA offers some classes. I'm not sure of locations or schedule, but you might contact them.

The latest copy (June 2003) of the NRA magazine AFF has a listing on page 59 for gunsmithing schools: California, N. Carolina, Oklahoma, and Colorado as locations.
