:?: Can you mount a scope on a M1 GARAND rifle?
Can I do it myself or is a gunsmith needed? If I need a gunsmith, any recommendations??

The receiver must be drilled and tapped for scope mount. I do not know of any mounts that do not require some machining.
You are located in Wayne County. so I would probably recommend Wessels on 9 mile in Warren.

Or Shooters Service in Livonia.

But why.... They shoot great with the iron sights!

I don't know about Ed, but I'm finding iron sights difficult to use these days. Has to do with when I was born.

As my doc would say it might just be a bad choice of parents.

Check out fulton armory's website, they have several mounts that replace the rear sight. Not cheap, but you won't have to drill.
