Sporting rifle made by Simson and Company, Suhl Germany. Best guess would be the 1920s to 1930s. Company is best known for the production of interwar Lugers, but also produced military trainers, reconditioned Mauser rifles for the Weiimar Republic, built automobiles, etc. After the Nazis came to power, the Jewish owners sere forced to flee and the company became BSW. Was only able to find one similar (same receiver markings) on an auction site:

Brief history of the company:

Hard to set a value on something this unusual. Good looking rifle- nicely done checkering would suggest a "deluxe" model. Unfortunately what appears to be a poly finish on the stock would greatly decrease its value to a collector. Betting it will be a great shooter- enjoy!

A friend has one of these... Can't remember everything we talked about when shooting it last year, but it was definitely the same-single shot .22 trainer, Jewish company in Suhl forced out when the Nazis came in and took it over. The impression I got was that they are definitely more desireable than the Nazi made ones, prices in the $400-500 range.

It was definitely a shooter. We had no trouble with a 30 gallon water barrel at 275 yards.
