10 miles NE of Hillman in Montmorency County. Will be leaving Friday evening as soon as my son gets home. College kids just have no sense of timing though but Friday evening is better than Saturday morning.

It will be on private land but I have always felt just as safe, if not safer on public lands. 3 incidents on private lands and 0 on public lands in the last 30 years.

Alex...How far is that from Spruce?

Spruce is just east of Hubbard lake....that is where I will be hunting.

Everyone go out and have a great time!....cause that is what hunting is all about!

Jerry, 10 miles NE of Hillman would put you about 35-40 minutes away, from Spruce to Hillman is about 25-30 minutes on the paved road's.

I also hunt in Spruce, on Labonte rd. where you at???

I'm Kevin, but nomatter.

Its too bad that Wills had to close the pit across the street because of roudy drunk people shooting there. Last time I was there there were no tresspassing or shooting signs there. :(

Good luck, I've seen allot of deer in the area when I was up Salmon fishing. Maybe I'll see you at the Wagon Wheel at Nickelson Hill & 23, I'll wear my MGO hat.

I have been hunting up there since 98 or 99, whatever year was the first time they allowed firearms deer hunting from an elevated stand. Not including deer season I probably make the trip to my brother's cabin about 10 times during the spring, summer and fall.

However, I have done little exploring or sight seeing. Went to Alpena once. Go to Hillman each time up there for groceries. We have a 93 yard range set up (93 yards 'cause my brother has short steps) so I have not had to look for any other shooting arrangements.
