As the title says, we went to Island Lake today to shoot the Gen 4 Glock 22 that I bought a month ago. When I bought it from MPE, I had them install Trijicon Night Sights on it.

I brought along two other Glocks that I own (23 & 27).

I shot my 23 and 27 as I normally do (perfect group at about 7-10 yards. However, my new G22 was a little low and drastically right every single time (tight grouping in that exact area)

My question is, is this caused by the Night Sights not being installed properly? I even tried my friends 23 and I was able to put bullet after bullet through the same holes in the bulls eye. But I had to severely compensate up and left to get in the zone with my new gun.

It's only one of the 4 weapons I shot, so I don't think it's me!

Take a scale or a pair of calipers and make sure that the rear sight is centered.

Other than that what did you think about your new G22 Gen 4???

Sounds like your rear sight is off a little bit.

Well, I guess it shot like the others (LOL). Trigger pull out of the box is fine to me. The only thing I am thinking about changing is going up one size in the grip. I was running it with no additional piece, but think I'll be more comfy with the medium setting.

I ran about 100 rounds through it and didn't have any jams, etc.

are you right or left handed?

Sounds like your rear sight needs to be pushed left and your front post is a little too tall.

If you're checking with a caliper, I'd check both the front and rear sights. Even if the rear sight is perfectly centered on the slide, the front sight may not be. The hole for the front post is larger than many aftermarket sights, and the "gunsmith" may have been sloppy, so don't assume it is. Just use a brass punch and adjust the rear.

I personally wouldn't worry about the front sight and get used to the new configuration, though you can usually get them in different heights.

Left Handed

I'm going to take it to a different gunsmith and have him check it out for me. I'm apt to screw it up completely...

or get an adjustable rear sight (vertical and windage).. I have one on my G17 and I can pinpoint with this gun.

if its a compatition only gun, adjustable sigths are fine... but they have no business on a fighting gun.

sorry jim, not trying to step on your toes, I just dont like adj sights.

I'll look at them. Meanwhile, I took it back to MPE and told them what was happening and they adjusted the sights for me at no charge.

What difference does it make which hand I shoot with? I've got 3 other Glocks that shoot straight...
