Agreed. Kensington is a very nice park with lots to do and all the amenities one would expect in a typical park and then some.

I've been to a number of metro parks, Kensington is the nicest IMHO but they are all good. Huron Mills out in Dexter is also really nice but they don't have a lake, though it is right on Huron River.

Is where we have the meeting near the water?

This is what the website says:http://www.metroparks.com/parks/rental_details.aspx?ID=6&RID=105

The Baywoods ‘G’ Picnic Shelter is a large shelter and it is located approximately 75 yards up a hill from the parking lot. The shelter is ½ mile to Maple Beach and it seats approximately 60-80 people. The surrounding picnic area can accommodate around 300 people. The Baywoods picnic area has a view of the water, flush restrooms, and grill(s) nearby, all of which are available on a first come first served basis. Reserved shelters must be occupied by noon and there is a $150 fee to reserve the shelter. For shelter reservations or picnic area registrations, contact the Park Office at 248-685-1561 or 800-477-3178. Park entry fees are not included in the shelter reservation fee.

Kosch Catering will be the exclusive catering company used at Kensington Metropark. All groups and organizations that will be using a reserved shelter or utilizing a picnic area on a first come, first served basis and having their event catered must use Kosch Catering. No other food service organizations will be permitted in the park. If you choose not to have your event catered, you are welcome to bring in your own food and prepare it (you just cannot have an outside company come into the park and provide your food for you). For additional information or to schedule food or beverage services contact Kosch Catering at 248-608-0690, ext. 10, or at www.koschcatering.com.

Hi,
First off thanks for organizing this get together. Second, in reading the rules above it says you can't carry, then it says, "shall not prohibit a person from legally carrying firearms in accordance with state law, including transporting an unloaded shotgun in a case within the boundaries of Lake Erie or Metro Beach Metropark for the purpose of using Lake Erie or Metro Beach Metropark as access to a permitted hunting area." So can we carry? I just want to be sure.

Thanks,
