Anyone know of or have a directory of Detroit-Metro area handgun leagues, competitions, etc?

Any websites to look at to find stuff for competition?

Raccoon Hunters Club in Romulus has open IDPA practices on Wed. at 6 and IPSC on Thur. at 6 with an IDPA match every 3rd Sat. of the month. Not sure about IPSC matches.

Only found a couple off of those links. Some of those pages have dead-ends.

I can't believe there aren't more local competitions in the metro-Detroit area, even if it is just a single range doing it.

What kind of competitive shooting are you looking to do? Do you want practical shooting like IDPA and USPSA or are you looking for more target shooting type competitions? How far are you willing to travel?

I'm mostly an IDPA shooter with an occasional foray into USPSA. I shoot a match just about every Saturday and don't usually have to drive more than an hour from southern Oakland county. I'd shoot competitions on Sunday too if I didn't think my wife would divorce me :) I've keep wanting to try other types of competition but just don't have enough time. Last weekend I shot a sample 3 gun stage and had a blast. After this season I may loosen up and try out some other disciplines like PPC, ICORE and some other multi gun stuff. There is also GSSF (http://www.gssfonline.com/) if you are a Glock kind of person. Every now and then a match will pop up. Unfortunately most of these things all take place on Saturday or Sunday and like I said, I only have so much time on the weekends.

I see it says you are from Washington. Detroit Sportsmen's Congress isn't too far away on Dequindre in Utica and they have IDPA matches the last Saturday of the month, USPSA matches the third Sunday of the month, .22 pistol matches the fourth Saturday of the month (and I keep hearing they are fun) as well as practices for IDPA on Monday evenings and I believe USPSA practices on Saturday (though I would verify this before showing up).
I also hear there is a Bullseye league on Thursday evenings and PPC on Wednesdays though I've never been to either so I can't verify that. Check http://www.d-s-c.org for more info.

There is also Linden Sportsmen Club (http://www.lindensportsmenclub.com/) which has at least IDPA and bullseye, Fenton Lakes Sportsmens Club (http://www.fentonlakes.com) which looks like they have PPC, Livingston Gun Club (http://www.livingstongunclub.org) USPSA and ICORE, and Livingston Conservation and Sports Association (http://www.lcsa.info) IDPA and PPC plus a bunch of other clubs out there I'm sure I'm missing like the above mentioned Raccoon Hunters.

Just handgun for now (practical or just target), until I build my AR and purchase a shotgun then I would like to get into three gun.

Weekends would be the best. I'll definitely have to check out DSC.

Thanks!
