Time for our Spring clean up and full auto shoot in Lapeer, this Saturday 3-27. We start cleaning the place up around 10:00 AM and once we get it looking good we break out the full autos and proceed to start shredding targets. The last clean up only took about 90 minutes due to the large number of folks helping out. Volunteers are usually welcome to run a gun or two for their efforts. Rakes, shovels, and trash bags are a welcome addition to the effort. Boots and gloves are recommended. I believe there will be a grill on hand with either burgers or hot dogs for a small cash donation to the DNR.

Odds of shooting will be greatly improved by providing your own brass cased, new factory ammunition. I suggest .223, 9mm, and .45.

This is a good time and a lot of fun to watch as a wide assortment of full autos tear up the targets.

I have been following these threads on the MG shoots at the Pit for about a year now. I will try to make it there to help with the clean-up if we can get the CCW class out in time. I do have a few targets for the shooters though. Do you think that they would be interested in a couple of cases of bowling pins or a lawn mower engine?

Well I am sure if you bring targets, someone will be more than happy to ventilate them. Should be a good time.

Lost my ride so now I don't know if I am going to be able to make it this time. But, I will always have that old lawn mower engine available.

Actually, the next clean up and shoot is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend but I am not real sure which day yet.

I wanted to take a look at some of the pictures in the "hometown" forums at ar15.com and have had a heck of a time accessing the site. Have they changed things around?

Yes. There were some major changes made over there. There used to be a thread that was tacked in the Michigan Hometown section that had links to all the threads with pictures. I don't think it is there anymore.
