Cold Government model 1911. Been told it is from the 80's. Can't find it anywhere. Serial prefix is SS.

Without more info the value is all over the board. If you post a picture we can probably give you a much better idea.

With the little bit of information you provided I would have to say $550-$750 maybe?

It is indeed a typo sorry. It is a Colt. The only information that I have on it is the prefix is SS and it's an 80s model 1911. I'll try and get a picture up.
