I want to tell my buddy how lucky he is by telling him that he got a great deal on his Remington 700 .270win,but I can't exactly tell him what it's worth cause I don't know, maybe you can tell me.My buddy paid $200 and got a 5 year old never fired Remington 700 in .270win(seller was a collector I believe)with a mounted 3-9X 50mm scope(guy said it cost $300),and not only that, but the guy gave him 2 boxes of 30-30 ammo,2 boxes of .44 mag ammo,2 extra scopes amd a set of Ruger blackhawk grips.I think the guy is just liquidating his collection or something because I don't know who in thier right mind would sell the gun by itself for $200.What do you think it's worth?

Depends on the brand of the scope and the specific model rifle (wood/polymer/etc.) but easily twice the $200 price tag I'd say.

It is a wood stock and a Brownell scope.

Yeah he got a pretty good deal. Not too familiar with the scope but the gun alone is worth quite a bit more than $200

Wood stock....ADL or BDL? Bottom metal w/triggerguard = BDL, no metal under magazine = ADL, which is the cheaper model.

Find one similar to it on GunBroker.com, and check completed sales! It's not brain surgery!:headinj:

I wouldn't sell my well used sportsman 78 (and even cheaper version than the ADL) for anything close to $200. That what a Hi-point carbine goes for!

I'd say he got a great deal.

and the rest of the stuff is worth at least as much.
sometimes older shooteres will do this to encourage younger guys to take it up. they like seeing others enjoy things they care a lot about. it's a lot better than a little extra money if you are already secure.

sure he didn't steal it? That's about a third of a new unfired remy 700 alone! nice job.

When the ADL's were still being made, they sold for about $300. I'd say he got a good deal. I'd take a used ADL over a new 770 any day.
