Could someone tell me a good place to get a CCW photo, The last time I got one was at CVS but I went there to get one this time and the smallest they could do was too big.

P.S I live in Dearborn

photographers, like Fox, Allen Park, Westland do them. Tell them what it's for. The size is different than a "passport" photo.

What I did for my original was take the freebie passport photo from AAA and went to Meijers and used their Kodak Machine to shrink it down to the right size. I think I got 4 or 5 copies for a couple of bucks...and I used one of them for my renewal back in February.

I had mine done at either Costco or Sam's Club. I told them the exact size I needed and they played around with it until we got it right. I don't remember the price but it was pretty cheap.

Go to a place that does passport photos, and take one step backwards from where you stand for passport photos. Trim the excess off the pics so that just the face and hair shows. Voila.

I had mine done at CVS (warren).

They had the exact right size there. No trimming required.
I would assume they all use the same equiptment so I dont know why they couldn't do it for you in Dearborn. :?:

Meijer did mine - around $7.00 in '01. I did have to trim, though.

Ahhh the element of varibility....PEOPLE.

Some know what to do, some challenge the system and think out of the box and want to help. I'm sure they have been told NOT to change the setting, or vary from the "script" and don't want to take the time to help.

Me too!

First I went to AAA and sked about the size of the photo. The lady said "is this for a CCW?" When I told her yes, she said they don't do those.

The next day I got a different insurance company. I went in to the same branch to cancel and made sure to tell the branch manager. She didn't seem to care.

Gary,

thats what I did...if it is still an accurate representation of your handsome bad self...I'd go with it.

The application states "...sufficiently recent to be a good likeness (normally taken within the last 6 months)"

I wouldn't read the 6 months as a mandate...if it looks like you go for it

detailed on the application...

"...an image size from bottom of chin to top of head (including hair) of between 1 and 1 3/8 inches"

If you're Ben Wallace sporting your "fear the fro" hairdo it may be tough to get that size.

We have a travel agent across from the County Clerk's office who makes a killing doing these. :)

Depends on who's doing the picture taking. Had mind done at CVS, no problem. And I was sporting MY "fear the fro", too ... :)

I too had pictures left over from my last application. So guess what, I used one of them and no problemo. I guess I didn't get any better looking in the last 3 years, huh?
