Picked these up with my fishing buddy yesterday while bottom bouncing the mid and lower river with a red bead , hammered copper 3 hook crawler harness. Dinner is going to be delicious

Are you just drifting or are you running your trolling motor like you would if you were jigging.I've always wanted to try crawler harnesses in the river, but I never knew how to, always jigged.

Electric trolling motor downstream just fast enough to spin the blade w/ a 3 oz bottom bouncer. This technique in the lake is just as effective

Yep you cover alot of ground, but the resident walleyes are expecting fast food living in the river behind current breaks ...after all they are ambush predators

Dad and I fish the Manistee the same way. We're basically floating with the current and using the trolling motor just for steering. If you put some air into the crawlers, it helps them float over some of the snags. We've caught some pike on the same set up.
