Triad Tactical Training Defensive Handgun Level 1
3 consecutive Tuesday nights, August 3, 10, and 17
6-9PM
Midland County Sportsman's Club
This class will focus on mastering gun handling and marksmanship skills, which are the foundation of an effective fighting response. While the focus of this class is the defensive use of the handgun in a real world scenario, these are the same fundamental skills needed for the shooting sports like IDPA. Topics to be covered include:
-Drawstroke
-Reloads (Emergency and Tactical reloads)
-Status Checks
-Ready positions
-Malfunction Clearances
-Marksmanship
-Shooting from cover
If time allows, we will also cover more advanced skills including movement, use of the flashlight, and one handed shooting.
This will be a fast paced course and we expect to shoot between 150-200 rounds each night (500-600 total).
Items needed for the class:
-Eye and Ear Protection (mandatory)
-A billed hat (baseball hat is perfect)
-Comfortable Clothing
-Quality handgun, 9mm minimum
-Sturdy belt, magazine pouches, and a quality belt holster that allows one-handed reholstering
-At least two spare magazines (3 or more is better)
I’ve saved the best for last. This class is free! You must, however, pre-register by filling out an application and returning it to me ASAP.
