i offered him $600 for it and he agreed. whats this guy worth used?

Anything under $700 would be a good deal IMO, depending on condition of course.

Seems like a good deal. Check the condition first: Buying a used 1911 (http://www.coolgunsite.com/buying/buying.htm)

1911 purists would critize the external ejector but from what I understand S&W is the only one who got the external ejector right. I think they are the only 1911 production company who uses them.

i know ill like it. but i may turn around and sell it to get something a little more to my liking. if i do ill let you know. picking it up tomorrow.

Kimber had an external on some of their 1911's for a hawhile.

Sounds like it a good deal, Depending on round count ...

S&W tried to change the wheel with the external than verses the internal...

they did switch back i believe...

I have to say its very nice looking 1911...
