Would this also eliminate the prohibition of carrying double edged blades, or is there another section of the MCL that would still bar that?
There would still be MCL 750-226, carry with intent, and MCL 380-1313 Student possession.
This is really good for reenactors and renaissance people.
100% useless without preemption.
I spoke with Todd and Doug from KnifeRights at the SAF annual meeting in Dallas last year. They have every intention of repealing 750.227(1) and re-running Mike Green’s knife preemption bill from last session.
We won’t get it all at once but they do great work and I recommend supporting www.KnifeRights.org
Have our legislators learned to just go after one thing at a time in an attempt to get ANYTHING done?
Yes, please join (and/or donate to) Knife Rights.
