I'm all for eliminating useless and needless laws. If this passes, I wouldn't be adding any of these items to the things I carry on a regular basis though. They would most likely be considered "lethal force" tools, and I already carry enough of those.
GOOD!
This will decriminalize several very common items that people don't even know are illegal.
Gut feeling; this will never pass.
I don't know. A pretty good case could be made from the fact that they did repeal the auto-knife law.
Yet, I generally chalk this kind of thing up to the concept that most of the legislators write these bills expecting them to go nowhere, and don't campaign for them, just so they can point to them and say "look I support you".
If it doesn't go anywhere, "tire billys", "fish boppers", weighted "monkey-knots" for heaving lines, and a bunch of other innocuous items will remain "illegal", and people will blissfully continue to have and use them without any knowledge that they are in violation of law. And LEOs will continue to ignore them UNTIL they need a reason to jam an individual up.
