Some of the comments after the article posted are truely stupid and that is not the first time I have had that opinion after reading comments.

I am a Paramedic. I am trained to revive. This bill flat-lined last May.
Apparently, Texas republicans had not done their parliamentary homework.

Texas guns on campus bill hits roadblock
By STAFF, Associated Press
May 19, 2011
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Legislation to allow people with concealed handgun licenses to carry guns into college classrooms in Texas has hit a roadblock.
The measure had been attached to a fiscal matters bill in the Texas Senate. But when the bill was taken up in the House, Democratic state Rep. Mike Villarreal made a parliamentary objection.
The San Antonio lawmaker pointed out that the Texas Constitution bars any bill from taking up two different subjects. Because the bill was a fiscal matter, it could not include the gun legislation.
The House parliamentarian agreed. The bill now goes back to the Senate, where senators will have to remove the guns on campus language.
With only 11 days left in the session, it was unclear if there was enough time to do that.
