Where can I get one of these. Do you think they will let me put it in my back yard??? HAHAHAHA

I would have to say it is a range or a silly looking baseball back stop....

Point is that "recognized" is not defined in the statute.

    Recognized by whom?

Going by a dictionary definition, I say a target range is easily recognizable by anyone possessing even the slightest bit knowledge of normal shooting activities.

    Geez! A little testy here!

I apologize if you were offended by my question.

I meant no disrespect whatsoever. I was simply curious, because I have not seen that statement before.

I DID say "Thanks" and I figured that the word "Please" was implied. I am sorry if you took the omission of the word "please" as an insult because it was never meant that way.

Again, I am sorry that my question may have come accross the wrong way!

    under 18

I think some of you are misunderstanding the law.
Noone under the age of 18 can purchase or carry a pistol/revolver.
Shooting on the other hand is legal if they are with someone over
    the age.
I know this because my cousin went to buy a gun a while back and
wasnt allowed because he wasnt 18. So his dad put it in his name and
once he turned 18, they went to county and signed over as if he
bought it from his dad to make it legal.
And on the range...as long as you are there, anyone can shoot your guns.
infact with new CPL laws, anyone with CPL can carry anyone else guns.

Most of it at the range is common sense. Follow the rules!
And where is that backyard range?
    Thats something sweet!!!!
Actually looks dug into the earth instead of building a 10' dirt berm.
Would love to have that in my backyard but then I'd be doign a
whole lot more reloading cause I know I'd be doign a whole lot more
    shooting.

    This is incorrect.

Question Let me get this right

So I take it you are saying that if a minor is shooting a handgun and being supervised by the adult gun owner, and the parent is present ....they are all breaking the law and they can be ticketed and or arrested ????? Because if that is true I am afraid any youth shooting program teaching target shooting to minors (and there are many out there that teach boyscouts ,girlscouts, gun club members kids, hunters safety courses ,ect, ect) are all lawless criminals and need to be stopped ????? Help me understand your statements .Because I am guilty of teaching pistol safety and target shooting to my friends kids in his backyard ..... I am guilty !!!

That is a pretty awesome setup sir.
I'm guessing this picture was taken right after you finished building it?
I'd love to see how it looks now... (wink wink, nudge nudge)

interesting thread. I spent four hours at a DNR range today sharing my guns demonstrating safety with 4 folks new to shooting, only 1 minor though. Some DNR ranges specifically make note of allowing "youth groups" ect., I believe the obvious key point here is never compromise on safety and range policy. Ever.

Never draw attention to yourself in sharing your firearms for any reason other than being worthy of a compliment for your gentle, safe teaching.
