Can you make a recommendation for a cheap but accurate ammo to shoot thru my FAL for this?
Also, what kind of sling should I use?

You might also want to consider buying or borrowing a 22 rifle to shoot. They are a heck of a lot cheaper to shoot than a center fire battle rifle.
A USGI web sling would be the first choice if your FAL has 1.25" sling swivels.

I have a 10/22, but I wanted my wife to shoot that. I want to get good with my FAL. That S&B is corrosive, so I'll keep looking.
