    http://vzgrips.com/gun-grips/1911-pi...esert-sand-g10 I had those ones.
The VZ's are nice grips but way outside my price range.. thanks for the link.

Understandable for sure! They are a bit pricey. Have fun shooting!

These are nice looking.. but I don't know how they feel.. I'll just keep the current grips on it for now untill I know/decide what I really want in grips.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

The Hogue rubber grip panels are less than 20 bucks, I think I paid about 16 for a set. I did screw up though, they looked black in the store but were green when I got home. blech
Replaced with the black ones, which I think look much nicer.

Great review. I like the Hogue grips as well. They pull the web of your hand up nice and tight to the beavertail. The rubber maybe isn't as nice for carry, but for target they're great!

Oh, sounds like your enjoyin the 1911 shootin; something about the feel of it, the way it comes up to aquire target and the trigger that kindof makes it an extension of your mind. Maybe just in my mind, Ha!

Ive heard and read plenty of good things about the RIA 1911s I dont think you could go wrong with any of their 1911's including the GI. A couple people I know have them and absolutely love them.

I love my RIA. After polishing the slide and trigger, it really is a pleasure to shoot. I did not even try the wood grips. Went with the hogue right off the bat. Also changed the sights for the Colt 3 dot mil-spec. And we do have them in stock in Traverse City at Shooters.
