Make no error, from what I have seen it is a perfectly good weapon, but if you happen to drop it in the sand or mud, you are going to be taking it home to clean it properly. It sells at a very competitive price point and accuracy seems to be excellent.

Once I have a FAL, then I will think about getting one of them as a heavy varmint rifle.

    Thanks for the input everyone.

I can get a pretty good price on a new FNAR at under $900 with lots of them in stock, unlike many other semi-autos these days.

I want to use the gun for varmit and deer hunting along with a "what if" gun.

It's a special sale price through a wholesaler.

There's a reason that distributor has them that cheap-they don't sell at their normal price so FN is trying to clear them out.

If you want a SHTF rifle, you're gonna want a dozen or two spare magazines. At $55-$60 each you should figure that's going to add another $700-$1400 to the price of the gun.

Wow, I thought that getting two extra magazines was overboard.
