    If it's something interesting to read who cares how old a resurrected thread is? Am i alone on this? If anything it reminds me i need to shoot my early 80's mini..its been awhile

    FWIW, I had an early ranch rifle back in the 80's. M193 wouldn't always chamber and would pull the bullets out when you tried to clear the chamber. Mostly shot reloads so it wasn't a big deal.

    Ruger Mini 14’s didn’t have a true .223 Remington chamber it was either .223 Wylde or 5.56 I forget which but either way as already stated they can safely shoot 5.56.
