Nice write up Recon! Have you checked throat length with it yet? Might want to try some TAC and some heavier bullets, say the 185 Bergers and see what it does. Varget will probably be too slow, but it is always worth a shot.

No, not yet. I have just been loading to a COL of 2.81".

Does TAC burn faster? I would like to try some faster burning powder to see if I can get another 50fps out of it. I'm also getting a lot of blowback unburnt powder debris from the can, so hopefully that would get cut down on. I tried some 180gr A-Max and it shot those like the 175gr, it seems to REALLY like the 168gr A-max bullets the best. Meh…like all things precision rifle, it's a work in process.
Hope all has been well. I'm sure I'll bump into you on the range soon.

It's been my experience that a rifle with a shorter barrel, shooting with slow burning powder will result in some unburned powder. If the barrel was longer there would be more time for it to burn up.

I would like to know this as well. I scanned the OP but did not see which DBM he is using.

This would be my ideal bolt action rifle as well.

I did the inletting myself with a drill press, dremil, and some hand files. It took a long time and was a PITA, but it functions fine at the end of the day.

What type of magazines does it take? I looked on MidwayUSA and they didnt have any of the PTG mags for the install. Thanks.
