    You're a Dead Man...

...and so are you".... 26 year old Acton School teacher James Hayward surprised by a British regular at a water well outside of Lexington on April 19, 1775. They fired at the same time. The solider was killed instantly, Haywood was wounded but died later in the evening with his father at his side. Hayward was technically excused from militia service because of a lame foot. He responded anyway and fought with the Acton Militia throughout the day ending up 8 miles from home.

Be sure to check the schedule regularly as some shoots sell out and new shoots are constantly being added.

Appleseed was one of the best classes on basic marksmanship I have taken.
If there is someone wanting to take a youth to this class but lacks ammo or the money for ammo, I will donate the .22LR ammunition. Send me a Private Message or an email to buckm1a@gmail.com. I live in Brighton.

"The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized."

    INCHES, MINUTES, CLICKS

People talk in Inches, Rifles talk in Minutes, Sights talk in Clicks. The problem is how to convert your groups in inches to minutes to clicks and center them on the target.

Just one of the many things we do in our Marksmanship Classes

Between this thread and the other one, it seems like there were a lot of good quotes coming out of just one day.

....Nor were we at peace" Rev. William Emerson after the fight at the north bridge in Concord. His home overlooked the bridge and he ministered to the militia before the fight and to the wounded on both sides afterward. His grandson, the poet Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote the "Concord Hymn" at the dedication of the memorial there in 1836.

One of the reasons we push April 19th is because it is probably the most important day in American history. The people who stood up for liberty that day created this country. July 4 may be the nation's birthday but April 19th was the inception. The people that day made choices and sacrifices that changed the world. It is an absolutely remarkable story.

Not to mention we teach damn good marksmanship which of course is an important part of our American heritage as evidenced by that day.
