My son who is 12 wants to try out a few of my pistols and Someone told me there is a age limit to shoot handguns at the local ranges
Anyone here this before?

It may be range policy, but isn't a state law as long as you are with him.
100% legal on state land or at the pit.
At Peacemakers in Howell this is their policy.
What is the minimum age?
Our waiver states 12 years old accompanied by an adult. We will make an exception based on the maturity of the youth. You must 21 years old to shoot pistols without an adult (over 21) present and you must 18 years old to shoot a long gun without an adult present.
Double action has a policy against it even with a parent. Action impact allowed it last time I was there. I've seen kids at CQT with parents shooting handguns.
Best bet is to call where you want to take him and ask.

Peacemakers is a great range. Matt and Dave run it well.
Never, under any circumstances, consume a sleeping pill and laxative on the same night.
My 13 y/o is my main range partner, long guns mostly. We do the handgun in the backyard or at the camp property.
