What scope/rings would you recommend for a standard M1A, under $600?

I have almost the same as above on mine.... a Vortex Viper PST 4-16. Great glass, even better customer service and warranty. I thought it wasn't holding POA because of recoil. They took it back, tested it cleaned it and sent it back. Had a discussion with one of their techs about how it was mounted. I used some $40 rings, which he suggested could be the problem on the M1A. Made arrangements to sell me the Vortex 100+ ones for like $40 cause he thought it would solve my problem. Turns out, it did! I do have my M1A in a Sage EBR stock though, if that makes any diff
But, highly recommend anything Vortex.
