I got the upper from dsa today.

Odin makes some serious quality parts.

Dsa installed the rail a little off kilter but it doesn't matter.

They did stake the gas block on. I'll have to drift the roll pin out to remove the barrel.

I'm changing this slick side upper out for another milspec i have and using this for a build with a lightweight bcg.

Gas block is adjustable. Its an odin works cheaper one

The slick side has a dust cover. I thought that was cool.

The bcg is phenomenal. Has all the proper markings, is staked, and is clearly identified 6.5 grendel.

I think uh, i found a good thing.

The cheaper gas block is all you need. You adjust it once and forget it. I get the ammo I plan on using and shoot a round then close the block 1/4 turn. Keep shooting and closing until it won't eject then back it out 1/2 turn and your at optimum gas.

Thanks. Yeah this block has a set screw that once it is set, you kind of "seal" it in there with another set screw on top.

Pulled apart the dsa upper.

Thats DSA for you. The cheaper gas block is great. Find a load and gas setting and leave it. Have fun. I'm just starting into 6mm Fat Rat which is a necked down case formed Grendel.

They are all fun. I went the Fat Rat route because I wanted a little more out of the AR15. I shoot a lot at Marksmanship Training Center and wanted a soft shooter for 1000. I've done it with 6.5G but figured more powder and lighter bullet with higher BC would be great. Have fun with your project.
