It really bothers me that such a large percentage of citizens actually think that by removing an inanimate object from the hands of law abiding citizens will actually stop any kind of violence.

City council approves ban on bump stocks in Denver

The ban passed 11 to 1 on Monday night at a Denver City Council meeting.

Denver City Council voted on Monday to ban bump stocks, a device that alters a semiautomatic weapon to have it fire like an automatic weapon.

A bump stock was used to kill dozens of people and injured hundreds in Las Vegas last year.

It's more of a symbolic move than anything, as Denver already bans the assault weapons that those attachments are meant for. The bill also limits rounds in a magazine to 15 from 21.

The ban passed 11 to 1 on Monday night at a Denver City Council meeting.

A similar law has been proposed at the state level. At the time of this writing, the bill has only one Democratic sponsor.

Wouldn't the Denver city council be further ahead to ban killing people?

bill as signed by council president includes...

    (2) Bump stock shall mean any device for a pistol, rifle, or shotgun that increases the rate of fire 18 achievable with such weapon by using energy from the recoil of the weapon to generate a 19 reciprocating action that facilitates repeated activation of the trigger.

and also includes this gem in what is a banned assault weapon

    ... including a detachable magazine with a capacity of twenty-one (21) or more than15 fifteen (15) rounds

they must not have firearms preemption over there.

Remember this? There was quite a buzz about it at the time. [No pot pun intended.]

One of our daughters lives in Littleton. She said many/most people moving to CO. are from CA. This isn't the last that'll be coming out of CO.

The libs have been working on destroying CA. for a long time. Now that they've turned it into a seaside ghetto for illegal immigrants, it's time to move on. CO. needs to wake up or it will be LaLa Land ll.

LOVED CA. when I was stationed there in the 60's. Will NEVER set foot on that land again.
