Monthly Practical Shooting Comps coming to MTC 2018

New for 2018! Monthly Practical Shooting Competitions.

MTC is bringing the exciting sport of Practical Shooting to Northern Michigan. If you want to test your gear and yourself in a fun and safe shooting environment this is for you. Bring your shooting buddies and see who comes out with the win each month. Expect to shoot 4-6 stages of challenging courses of fire with your pistol, learn your limits and the skills needed to shoot more accurate and faster. Round count will be 100-200 rounds per competition all while shooting on the move, shooting around barricades, and at varying targets of steel and paper from 3 feet to 50 yards. These timed and scored events are fun and exciting for everyone from the novice shooter wanting to improve to the master class shooter looking for something new.

Preregistration payment is preferred for forecasting but not necessary. You may pay at the door. $20 non member / $15 MTC members. Spectators are always welcome.

See website for general overview and rules.

So besides all the obvious rules, the remainder seems to be:

    Shooting Rules:
All targets must be engaged in a safe manner and assure the bullet impacts the berm or ground where there are no chances of it leaving the shooting area.
All targets must be shot from inside the shooting area.
Shooters must follow the directions written in the stage description.
Shooters must start the COF with magazines loaded to division capacity unless specified in the stage description.
The default starting position is standing, facing down range with hands relaxed at sides. (the stage description may dictate otherwise)
Shooters must follow all the firearms safety rules at all times

    Firearms Divisions
Production/Stock: DA/striker fired guns with iron sights and no external modifications. 15 round max Magazine capacity
Slide Mounted Optics: Pistols with red dot sights mounted to the slide. 20 round max mag capacity
Limited: Single action/ or DA/Striker fired guns with external modifications such as mag wells, slide milling ect… 20 round max mag capacity.
    PCC: Pistol Caliber Carbine 9mm-45acp.
Sparse, but a good start. Good luck!
