    Mag issue.

Recently acquired a beautiful Springfield Armory Range Officer in 9mm. I have 8 mags of various makes. One is a used Colt that won't hold the slide open on the last round. It functions ok other than that. Reasons why this one mag would present a problem like this ?

Low magazine spring force can also fail to lift a stiff slide hold open latch with sufficient rapidity to catch the slide notch, even though it is still adequately powerful to feed correctly. This situation can be aggravated by crud and rust inside the magazine effecting a drag on the follower.

Sprayed it with copious amount of GUN BLASTER. Let it air dry & put a few drops of oil in it. Took a needle nose to the feed lips & the follower. Guess what? Works like it should. At least manually. Will see when I actually shoot it next week.

C'mon man! Letting your gun go empty isn't becoming of a "tactical operator." Change those mags out after a few shots, and you won't need that hold open feature!

Tripp rebuild kits are awesome, with a top notch follower. This I know in 45 caliber, you'll have to see if they make them for 9mm.

    Theses may work

Some mags just don't work in a Springfield, but will work in another 1911.
