ISO - someone with a good clean reliable stock cutting technique..

I usually dont mind hacking away at a personal stock to make it fit better.

However, I have a Henry 22lr for my 6 year old grandson, and I have an NEW
replacement stock from Henry. I will keep the original stock, until the little turd
can use it, but I WILL cut down the new one to fit him better.

And I dont want to hacksaw this one.

    Anyone ??

Ask Henry if they would do it for you for the same reason you mentioned here. Just a thought.

I've been doing it that way since 1975

On cheap non walnut stocks, I've been known to use a cut off saw with trim blade and just one cut it. I have to touch up the chips on the bottom side after though.

Lots of measuring, decide on the size you want, mark it, and use a band saw, then clean it up with a belt sander.

If you are close to any industrial shops where small busineses are go to a cabinet shop etc, look for places with roll up rear doors and ask a guy there will he cut it for you and clean it up for a 12 pk, or $15 etc and you can fine tune it at home.

You can do well that way, they can cut it in there sleep, you go home and hand sand and fit the but plate etc.

Band saw and belt sander for me too. I even built a fixture to run it through the band saw squarely for one of my nicer guns years ago.

I taped off the stock and bondo squashed it square

I didn't have a disc for the sander so I blocked it .
