Ive been trying to find a way to get a Trijicon RMR to co-witness with the irons on an AK when mounted on the gas tube. I know about the Midwest Industries mount, but I have a Zhukov stock set that I really like and don't want to remove.

Heres my thought. Ultimak gas tube mount, with an RMR mounted on a CZ Scorpion RMR mount (Which looks to be the lowest picatinny adapter possible).

Has anyone tried this? Does it co-witness?

Id like to find some measurements and do the math myself, but its not exactly easy without actually having the parts on hand. I can try to fudge the numbers by using the known spacing of the picatinny lugs....but its is like right on the edge of being possible.

Before anyone mentions it.....

No, I don't want an Aimpoint Micro/ Primary Arms/ TRS-25, etc.

Yes, I do want to keep it on the gas tube.

Yes, I do really want it to co-witness.

I would rather keep the gun as straight irons before deviating from this idea. An optic is not a "must have" for this rifle....but having one would be nice.
