    Pistol Rack Alternatives for Safe

I'm pretty sure this has been brought up before, but I wasn't able to find it.

What are you using for pistol racks in your safes? The storage area in my safe is about 12" square, and about 10" high (somewhat adjustable, though, with a top shelf that I use for documents). I know there are purpose-built racks, but what about less expensive alternatives? I seem to recall someone using a dish rack. I'm just looking for ideas.

    Thanks.

You could use hangers like these

    https://www.amazon.com/Storage-Pack-.../dp/B073X5D8H7

In combination with a rack like this

Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men.

My safe actually came with a shelf similar to the one listed above, that's what I'm currently using. I actually have one of these sitting around as well: https://www.amazon.com/SnapSafe-6-Gu...70_&dpSrc=srch

If you want it (or anyone else for that matter), you can have it for free. Just pay for shipping or pick it up by me.

The majority of my handguns will balance upside down(standing on the sights). So, I just store them side by side in a row upside down. I'd imagine you could fit 8-12 handguns side by side stored this way in a 12" row.

To utilize the extra length(since you said you have a 12x12 square surface), assuming your handguns aren't all 12" long, you could store a few of them sideways(still upside down) in front of your row of upside down pistols.

If on space constraints, racks will typically eat up more space vs sticking them side by side standing on their sights.

Obviously, it's going to depend on what you got. Not all guns stand upside down well.

Get some brazing rod and make your own. Can't be too hard to do.
Never, under any circumstances, consume a sleeping pill and laxative on the same night.

I have about the same size area. There is the "Foam Factory" in Macomb Twp. I went there and bought some thin closed cell foam, and built sleeves to slip the handguns into, and can fit many more in than the previous method of setting them on the shelf.
