Hey Sellers... Why don't you think about us Up North?

I used to be one of you down there before I retired, and I get that it is easier to try selling local, but a whole lot of you head north regularly and could use gas and food money Many sellers post between home and work, but you can widen your market (if you really have to do a face-to-face) if you make your sale during a vacation, etc. I used to do it along I-75...and even delivered other people's ammo cases when we did group buys (we're all in this together, right?). The WTB (want to buy) section is there, but so few seem to look at it before posting their stuff for sale and never looking back. Let us know if you are headed north (or other places in the state), the summer season is upon us.

With that in mind, if you are headed to Gaylord/Petoskey or through Mackinaw City to the UP, I am looking for AR lowers (5.56 and .308 ); Garand .30-06 ammo, .308 ammo, .300 Blackout ammo, .38 Special/.357 Magnum ammo; and metal CZ pistols (especially decockers).

    Travel safely and good luck!

I have sent a few sellers PM's asking if they ever went North and that I would meet at exit 190 or 202.

A few have said "nope, don't go North".

Others have said "sure if I don't sell it first".

The ones that said sure, sold items before the trek North.

I’m not opposed to selling to anyone regardless of location. As long as they have a CPL/Purchase Permit or I’m shipping from my FFL to another FFL I’m good.

I would do it if its close, or meet off the highway, but seems hard to time, and makes for a more excruciating no show where I drive 150 miles or more, with in 10 miles of their house, and they do not show, show up late, make me wait 2 hours for some under 200 buck POS, on my vacation or getaway of limited time.

If you know the people then its seems great.

I don't even try to sell any more because the first couple offers didn't go so well . Dirt laid it out pretty well I'm sorry to say .

Well the biggest thing is the distance/gas. My house to the bridge is 518 miles roundtrip. So if you are counting gas only, that's $80 round trip at 20ish/gal. And if you can sell local or have the potential to, you aren't going to commit to someone 250 miles away. And it's definitely not worth the hassle for a low-dollar transaction.

I don't know what you're complaining about. I made the trip to the gun show at the St. Ignace casino this winter and your prices up there are better than ours.

I would sell to you up there but I am shipping it as if you were out of state. Not worth my time and gas money to even meet half way.

I did something similar actually to buy a Makarov off someone via MGO. He was right on my way up to Traverse City so we were able to arrange a meet up on my drive up.
