What would be rough is the number of "pit stops" that would be required during the next portion of the drive.

This would fall under the same sort of advice as to never take a laxative and a sleeping pill at the same time.

I've never limited how far I would drive for either a sale or a purchase and usually cross off any seller who does unless he is in my immediate area on general principles. I've driven from Hillman to St. Clair Shores, Auburn Hills, Higgins Lake, Lansing, Clio, Livonia, etc.

For stuff that was under 200 bucks, or over 700 bucks ?

Just curious, not judging. If its under 200 bucks it better be rare and hard to get for me two drive 2 hrs round trip, much less closer to ten hours round trip.

The OP was about people passing through or coming to the area on vay K..

If someone drove two hours just to sell a two hundred dollar gun either they are dumb or the gun is hot.

Not speaking for CR, but some people enjoy driving and something like this gives them a reason to make the trip, enjoy lunch up north, visit friends or family while there, etc.
