Muskegon fisherman lands 46.5-pound fish in Ottawa County

The last time I was on Grand River there was no water.

Brandonn Kramer of Muskegon got lucky last month when he landed a 46.54-pound black buffalo fish on the Grand River. In a public Facebook post, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources celebrated his catch.

"NEW STATE RECORD!" the department wrote, before disclosing that it had been caught in Ottawa County — as had the previous record fish, from 2015. "Might be a good area to try fishing if you're a record seeker," DNR added.

The fish was apparently caught on May 25 and Kramer was bowfishing when he landed it.

Landed it? Yeah after he put an arrow into it! Try landing a 46# fish on light line and tackle!
