Glock Sport Shooting Foundation Match - Brighton, MI

The weekend of July 22 & 23 Livingston Gun Club in Brighton, MI is hosting the Great Lakes Classic XIX Glock Sport Shooting Foundation match. This is a great match for both beginners with little or no competition experience to the experienced shooters looking for some extra fun. All that is needed is a Glock handgun, 3-4 magazines and a couple of boxes of ammo. All stages start from a low ready position with no holster draws and no reloads on the clock. Glock awards prizes for both performance and on a random draw basis from Certificates for Glock handguns, to cash, to Glock merchandise. There is also a team event with separate prizes if you and a few buddies want to get together and compete as a team. There is a special woman's event for the lady's only with it's own prize category. There is also a special division for Law Enforcement. So something for everyone as the saying goes.

Registration and more information is online at; http:/GSSF.PRO/ or call (770)437-4718. You can also register at the range the day of the match. Registration opens at 9:00 AM both Saturday and Sunday. Registration closes on both days at 2:00 PM. The range is located at 2440 Hunter Rd Brighton, MI. For a map to the range go to;https://www.livingstongunclub.org/ma...ston-gun-club/

No, it is a one day format and depending on how busy it is, you can probably shoot the match in a couple hours at most.
I am not sure of the cost as Glock handles all the registration. You have to join the GSSF which I think is $35.00 for a 1 year membership, and I believe it is $20.00/per gun entered. Many competitors shoot a few different guns in different divisions.
The GSSF page referenced above will have the most complete and up to date info.
Thanks for the interest and hope you come out and shoot.

It is funny because last year when I shot the match it was my first GSSF match ever.. I went there with my glock 17 that has a 3.5 lb connector.. I was clueless about the rules.. I signed for GSSF membership and for the match. The Glock representative asked me if my Glock 17 was stock and I told him that I have a 3.5 lb connector. He said that the gun has to be bone stock and they replaced the connector with a stock one and gave me the 3.5 lb connector back.. As I shot the match I was out of my comfort zone trigger wise as I never shot the stock connector in my glock before.. After the match I put the 3.5 connector back in the G17 as this is my favorite IDPA handgun.. This year I bought a G17 and I kept it all stock except polishing the heck out of the connector. I have been shooting this gun for the past two months to get some trigger time on it. from steel plates to idpa matches..

So yeah I bought a dedicated G17 for GSSF matches only.
