Thanks for the replies, everyone. Free time being what it is, and already having several gun projects on my plate... well, after some consideration of the recommendations presented here, I'm just going to look for a replacement stock. Even if I can fix my beech stock it'll probably just warp again in the future, so I'm just going to move to something more stable. Although it might be cheaper, I just can't bring myself to go synthetic on this rifle, so I'm keeping my eyes open for a used or otherwise reasonably priced laminate stock in the $100 range.
