Just shot some 380 ammo that is at least 40 years old. Better part of two boxes (100 rounds) and they all worked.

Dad has some .45 and .06 from Nam, shoots just fine.
I change my ammo often and my EDC every two-three years.
I had 15rnd's of 45acp JHP I don't remember brand now it's been a year, loaded in a magazine for 6 years. I have not had problems with either that magazine, nor the ammo in the magazine nor the remaining 35 boxed. Every one fired off without a hitch, magazine still functions 100%
I know that's nothing compared to some of the 40+ years other people have recorded, but I've picked up a habit of putting timestamps on newly purchased ammo so I can observe its condition, corrosion, use oldest first, etc.
I've had more problems with major brand names bought inexpensively from walmart.. I havn't had the time to research quality or courage to test some of the lesser brands for reliability yet...
a few years ago found some WW II 45 ACP IIRC steel case made in Anderson Ind. all fired
On the rare occasions I carry a .45 I load it with Black Talons I purchased over 20 years ago. Never worries me.
