How would one like this be if I reversed the mount & thus held the site over the dust cover ?

Get one in the Vortex line. I have a Spar AR and it has held up well. Has features the expensive optics have plus a few they don't without being cumbersome.

I have this setup on a PSA. Think I'll try reversing the mount & see how it looks.

MHO, this looks good & works good. Dust cover still comes off for cleaning. Gets the electronics away from the gas system.

    What ya'll think ?

I definitely think it helps, it has to help. Good compromise between not spending much more, or any more and testing it out.

Give it a go, and if you cook it then you know.

are you going to SBR that, its pretty sweet.

Not sure what I paid for the Vortex. It was on another AR. Switching it to the PAP is ok, but I still need another optic if I leave this one on there.

No SBR's in my immediate future. May put a brace on it if I can find one for cheap.

Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but the new optic looks promising & the brace should work out great.
